Hawke would have to hide that fact and eventually it would get out and Fenris would flip. I would only do a rivalmance with a blood mage Hawke because that's a huge disagreement to have. The thing that gets to me with Hawke and Fenris is that Varric writes the LI a letter afterwards. Hawke is the one who taught Fenris how to read. I have no idea why this gets to me as badly as it does, but it really really does. I think.. I think I imagine my Hawke writing Fenris letters on the road.
